The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) brings substantial changes to the rules around personal data. Through this legislation, data security will be improved reducing the loss of data. To ensure effective compliance and avoid potential fines by 25 May 2018, your organisation needs to have managers and staff in place who understand the requirements of the GDPR and are well equipped to plan, implement and maintain a compliance programme.

In some instances, there will also be a requirement for your organisation to appoint (in-house or externally) a suitably qualified and trained data protection officer (DPO).

  • The next steps - what needs to be done before 26th May 2018?
